Couples Enrichment
“Achieving intimacy is like tuning in a radio station.
At first there is a lot of buzzing and indistinguishable noise;
then you find the signal and can hear clearly.”
Pia Mellody, best selling author of The Intimacy Factor

Community Nights
Couples come together and develop skills, presence, awareness, a sense of closeness as an intentional approach toward intimacy. Like yoga or learning to play a musical instrument intimacy is a learned skill. Regular attention and in depth exercises strengthen your capacity to live a life of joy and connection each day. What can you expect?
Recent Themes:- How do you balance control and surrender?
- Explore your identity as a giver and receiver in relationship.
- Practice feeling before acting to connect with your desires and boundaries while affirming your autonomy and verticality.
- Deepen your connection with yourself and your partner.
- Leading and following between partners. Is either more familiar or comfortable?
A typical evening might include:- Welcome and intro: Who else decided to join you tonight and what are we going to do?
- Warm up activity: We get the ball rolling with a flavor of what’s to come.
- Main/Core practice: This may include a single activity or several related to the main theme.
- Large Group Discussion and pulling it all together. Share if you want or just listen. We cover:
. What? What exactly did we just do?
. So what? Did you discover anything personally relevant?
. Now what? Possibilities for further exploration on your own.
. We may offer thoughts for reflection. - Closing: A way to mark our ending.
- Linger if you like: Some say meeting new friends is the best part.
You are asked to wear comfortable clothes and can participate at the level that feels right for you. Open to all genders and orientations ages 18 and up.
Jai Yoga is located at 5 Vista Blvd. in Guilderland, just off of the traffic circle near Shoprite supermarket. Notes on accessibility: The studio is located on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. Community Night practices may be done on floor mats or chairs, seated or laying down.
